NADC Hydrant and Waste App

What is the NADC Hydrant and Waste App?

Are you interested in improving your standpipe operations or waste management? This article talks about how the NADC Hydrant and Waste App can help all within one app.

Hydrant App Feature

NADC (National Association of Drainage Contractors) and eviFile have worked in partnership to help solve a major problem in the drainage industry.

Contractors have been getting fines for taking water illegally and the fines have not been small – generally from £4500 upwards! The problem is it is not always easy to determine which hydrant belongs to each water company.

To help contractors, NADC and eviFile worked together to develop a powerful, informative and easy-to-use Hydrant and Waste App that works on both IOS and Android devices.

The NADC Hydrant App has been designed to provide a long-term solution to the need to carry multiple standpipes giving the user the ability to plan extraction locations ahead of time. In the short term, it provides immediate benefits, including flexible management capabilities, digital assurance to protect against illegal use of hydrants and possible £1000+ fines. Field users have also seen a reduction in travel time / costs through our easy-to-use location features.

Benefits of the NADC Hydrant feature include:

  • A growing database of authorised hydrants – currently 125,000+
  • Critical information stored within each authorised hydrant
  • Easy-to-use location and navigation features
  • Search for Hydrants by postcode or nearest location
  • Create digital records of extractions (successfully used as evidence in a court case to defend against illegal water usage allegations!)
  • Robust reports on team activity, extractions and standpipe usage
  • Export and share standpipe readings and extraction activity with ease
  • Report on faulty hydrants

NADC and eviFile are fully aware that onboarding a new app requires support and training and we are proud to say we provide dedicated training / onboarding sessions and in-depth training materials. We also provide technical support.

Additionally, through consulting with the NADC Environmental & Waste Committee, the Waste Site Solution was added as a bolt-on to the Hydrant App.

The Waste Site app is a 5000+ strong database of waste sites with key information on each site. This was developed as a tool for searching for waste sites that take specific waste codes with ease.
