Firms Fined for Illegal Fire Hydrant Use

Illegal Fire Hydrant Use

Thames Water has recently prosecuted four companies for using illegal standpipes to take water from hydrants within the region. The companies were ordered to pay fines ranging between £2,700 and £7,502 for offences related to the Water Industry Act 1991 and the Water Supply and Fitting Regulations 1999.

This comes at a time when a robust management solution in the form of the NADC Hydrant App is available. Immediate benefits include identifying the nearest authorised hydrant to the operator, helping to prevent illegal use, saving travel times, large fines and reputational losses.

To find out more about how the NADC Hydrant App can benefit your drainage business, contact Mike Ockenden or Matt Rowlatt through our contact page.
