NADC was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden and untimely death of Ray Smith. Ray had been part of NADC from its infancy and played an important role in helping it become the industry trade body that it is today. We send our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends.

There will be an award for the Regional Contractor of the year and National contractor of the year as well as Irish Contractor of the year. National Drainage Awards Postponed by a Year
NADC announces Awards now to take place in November 2023 The Board of NADC has announced that the first National Drainage Awards have been postponed and will now take place as part of the National Drainage Show on the evening of Wednesday 22nd November 2023. Julian Wynn Chair of NADC said: ‘the Board have made this difficult decision, mainly because we had not given ourselves enough time to organise the Awards as professionally as we are determined to make them. We have had so much interest that we want to make sure all those involved have a truly memorable experience.’ In place of the Awards this year, NADC will hold a networking event for its members at the National Drainage Show 2022 in the evening of the 23rd November with Frank Bruno MBE as the very special guest. The Event will be free for all members and a celebration of another year of growth and achievement for the Association. Please see more about what the National Drainage Awards is here
David Kennedy
David Kennedy NADC was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of David Kennedy the long-time figurehead of the Water Jetting Association (WJA). David had been involved with the WJA since its inception in 1980, latterly as its Director since 2009. He was greatly respected in the drainage contractor industry, in particular for the pioneering work in health and safety in the use of water jetting equipment, as well as introducing technical standards. Peter Stacey, Honorary Life President of NADC said ‘I knew David for many years, and he was a man of principle and integrity. He was passionate about the industry he represented. I would like to offer David’s family, and his friends and colleagues, sincere condolences not just of my behalf, but also all of NADC’s members. May he rest in peace.’
